Cakes and Swimming

Feeling depressed at being stuck in London away from the healing balm of the icy waves, I went to cheer myself up at the amazing London Review of Books cafe (with in fact, friend of the blog RL) where not only did they have the best rose and pistacio cake I have ever eaten in my life but also an entire window display of swimming books! It was almost as if they knew I was coming....

A Taste of Chlorine - I don't know anything about this, SW? But beady eyes will spot namesake Charles Sprawson, hero Roger Deakin and spirit guide Daniel Start. Not in the window is this beautiful jacket I saw elsewhere yesterday.

Back in Dorset at the weekend, so fingers crossed for some calm, cold conditions.

  2. That's very good news, thank you. You guys are doing brilliantly over at the Lido, it looks fantastic! And you have better cake than us too.
